Note: As the Houck family currently lives in the home, the following spaces are GENERALLY UNAVAILABLE. Though exceptions can be made, it will be rare and the use of these extra items or spaces usually comes with extra fees.

Other Spaces

The Great Room

The spacious great room with extra capacity u-shaped couch and large ottoman is the perfect place for family skits, announcements, or gatherings. As a bonus, phones and tablets can be charged at one of four ports in the couch.

The Unicorn Laundry Room

There are two laundry rooms. One is located on the first floor next to the gym and the second is upstairs off the hallway just before entering the game room.

The Steampunk Game Room

The steampunk game room upstairs has two custom-built arcade games featuring many beloved games from the 1980’s as well as a game closet filled with fun family board games and puzzles

Dining Tables

The three twelve-seat capacity dining tables plus bar seating allows in-house dining for fifty plus and epic board game battles.

Art Collection

There’s an extensive art collection including a walk through gallery in the upstairs and downstairs halls. Guests can peruse the art at their leisure. During the holidays some of the art is rotated out to match the season.

Outdoor Grilling

The outdoor deck is covered and has comfortable seating, small tables, a sink, a pellet smoker, and a gas grill.

Sports Equipment

Many outdoor activities and recreational sporting equipment items are stored onsite including Frisbees, balls, hula hoops, jump ropes, and a ping pong table. If you would like access to something while you’re here, please let the Property Manager know and he or she will locate it for you.

The Kitchens

There are two full kitchens in the home. The Steampunk Kitchen is located upstairs and the Chef’s Kitchen downstairs features state-of-the-art appliances, double Wi-Fi ovens, double dishwashers, and two large islands. The Steampunk Kitchen will be the guest Go-To Kitchen for all things snackable & drinkable.

Ice Cream Machines

Colleen’s family has a homemade ice cream competition each family reunion so there are several old-school machines onsite. If your family would like to use these during your stay, please let us know.

To keep our guests, staff, and homeowners all running at full speed, we currently provide the following:

  • Emergency Rope Ladders from the Second Floor, One in Each Wing

  • First Aid Kits including a fully stocked first aid pantry
  • Keyless Entry With a Rotating Code

  • A Live-in Certified Nurse
  • Vaccination of staff and homeowners

Policies & Procedures

Read on for a list of policies and procedures at Houck Hollow. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the property manager.

  • 100% Refund if you cancel at least 30 days before check-in.
  • No refund if you cancel less than 30 days before check-in except in the case of emergencies as determined on a cases by case basis.
  • You are responsible for any damage to the rental property caused by you or your party during your stay.
  • No pets are allowed (Note: The Houcks currently have two dogs onsite and make every attempt to keep them away from guests)
  • No smoking or alcohol is allowed.
  • The statuary in the guest rooms and cabinets as well as the various holiday items are for display only. Please watch your children to ensure they are not removed.
  • The collection of books on display during the holidays are available for your perusal, but please keep them clean and replace them when you are finished reading. The books on the great room library shelves may be read or studied but they are collector’s items. Please treat them gently.
  • Children of all ages are welcome, however, we do not have items such as high chairs or cribs available at this time. We hope to be able to provide these extras in the future. You are welcome to bring your own if you wish.
  • The entire home is cleaned with disinfectant between guests, but we do not maintain your rooms or bathrooms during your stay. If you would like to add daily housekeeping during your stay, that can be added for an additional fee.
  • Check-in is after 4:00 PM
  • Check-out is before 11:00 AM
  • Taking plant cuttings from the property is not permitted. If you would like to purchase flowers or inquire after a particular plant species, you may ask the property manager. On occasion, we may sell pots, bulbs, or hanging baskets. Ask a gardener if you are interested.
  • There are still several areas under development on the property. As such, poison oak and blackberry thorns are possible in the underbrush. Because of this, we ask visitors not to wander off the paths at this time.
  • Photography is encouraged, but please refrain from taking photos with the Houck family unless you ask ahead of time.
  • Because the Houck family still resides in the home, no parties, events, or non-paying guests are allowed.
  • Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 6 AM.
