The Table
I think the idea for a bumblebee theme actually came from the honey. I found this giant jar of delicious wildflower honey and I wanted to see what I could make with it.
My favorite find to fit the theme were the outdoor bumblebees from Hobby Lobby which were on sale this time of year at 60% off! I snatched up all I could find.
My second favorite addition was the yellow checkered table runner from Home Goods. After that, adding Dollar Store daisies, black and white napkins, and mismatched teacups was easy. The bumblebee tea for one teapot is in my store. It’s from my favorite teapot maker, Blue Sky Clayworks.
The cute yellow daisy lollipops were a discovery when shopping at Ross.

For the chandelier, I used bee striped fans and a pair of bee wings from the Dollar Store attaching them with curling ribbon.
The Decor
Unfortunately, I didn’t get a photo of the stairs. Instead, I dug out one of our hanging garden signs. Our stairs had bee bows, flowers, and various shades of yellow fairy lights.

I gave up on making my own macarons. They’re spendy to buy but I understand why. Maybe someday I’ll perfect them but for now, I’m leaving them to the experts. These German bee sting cakes are interesting. They aren’t so much a cake as a sweet yeast roll filled with pastry cream. Very interesting. I baked them off in my daisy mold.
These salted honey macadamia nut cheesecakes were to die for. I couldn’t get enough of the drizzled topping. There’s something about the combination of salt with sweet honey. YUM!

As a bonus we had a beautiful tray of baklava at this tea party. Isn’t it gorgeous?
